According to Mr. Pereric Hogberg, Swedish Ambassador to Viet Nam, Sweden was the first European country to establish relations with Viet Nam. Over the past 50 years, the relationship of the two countries has gained many remarkable achievements.
The visit aims to find out chances to boost the cooperation with Viet Nam, contributing to developing the traditional ties of the two countries, he added.
The Ambassador also affirmed that more Swedish enterprises expect to cooperate with Vietnamese partners. Sweden’s export turnover to Viet Nam posted an increase of 50% in 2017, creating a springboard for trade development of the two countries in the coming time.
At the reception, the representative of Swedish businesses gave full information of projects in Southeast Asia, including Viet Nam. They expected to receive assistance from Ha Noi authority to expand their business activities in the city.
In reply, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy expressed his delight at the Swedish business community’s willingness in cooperation and believed that the cooperation mechanism between Ha Noi and Swedish enterprises will grow further after the visit to Ha Noi.
Emphasizing that there are great potentials to enhance the trade ties between Swede and Ha Noi, the city leader said that the capital city will continue to encourage Swedish enterprises to boost the coordination in fields of technology, smart city, infrastructure, training of high quality human resources, etc.
He also affirmed that the city authority will create favorable conditions for Swedish businesses to enhance their investments in the area.
