The event saw the attendance of Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Kunio Umeda and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and more than 200 Vietnamese and Japanese volunteers.
Speaking at the event, Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Kunio Umeda emphasised that the planting of 500 cherry blossom trees in Ha Noi is not only among the activities to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries but also significantly contributes to cleaning the environment.

He also expressed his hope that the trees would grow well, turning Hoa Binh Park into an attractive place for people to relax.
Addressing the event, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said the cherry blossom trees that he planted at Hoa Binh Park one year ago are developing well, symbolizing the continuous development of the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Japan as well as between Ha Noi and AEON Group.

The planting of cherry blossom trees will raise public awareness of protecting environment, contributing to improving the quality of their lives.
Since 2014, the AEON Environmental Foundation has planted nearly 100,000 green trees in Thua Thien – Hue province and Ha Noi.
