Over the past year, implementing Resolution No. 11-NQ/TW of the 10th Politburo, Party Committees, Party organizations, authorities and collectives have paid special attention to deploying and making greater gains in the woman task. Policies and laws on woman affairs and gender equality have been completed. So far, women have affirmed their role and position in families and the society.
To strengthen the woman work in the new situation, the Secretariat asked Party Committees, organizations, Fatherland Front Committees, socio-politic organizations to focus on well carrying out following missions:
- Grasping targets, missions and solutions outlined in Resolution No. 11-NQ/TW; enhancing the popularization to raise people’s awareness of women’s role, position and potentials in gender equality.
- Completing laws, policies on gender equality to create favorable conditions for women’s comprehensive development; researching and adjusting Law on Gender Equality and relevant legal documents to meet demands in the new situation; enhancing inspection, supervision and handling of violation cases in performing laws and policies relating to woman, gender equality, family and child.
- Building and implementing specific policies for women in highland, remote and island areas, ethnic minorities, those with disabilities, etc; encouraging women to start up their businesses; creating favorable conditions for women to improve their abilities and professional skills.
- Boosting the building of happy, advanced and civilized families; improving the quality of legal assistance and consultancy; synchronously carrying out solutions to protect and care for women’s health; taking care of nutrition for women and children; setting up national education programs on family, pre-marriage education; combating social evils and strictly handling violence and abuses in women and girls.
Heads of Party Committees, authorities at all levels are responsible for directing and synchronously implementing solutions to fulfill outlined targets; creating favorable for young female staffs and ethnic minority women; completing regulations on personnel work to ensure gender equality in planning, appointment and rotation; strengthening the comprehensive leadership and direction in organizing and operating Women Unions at all levels; ensuring some missions in socio-economic development programs; organizing dialogues with women to remove difficulties and shortcomings in agencies, units and localities.
The Viet Nam Women’s Union is tasked to promote women’s key role; re-organize the apparatus and improve the quality of officials and staffs; innovate operational contents and methods; pay special attention to educating and building qualified, responsible and creative officials; positively foster female officials for the political system.
