The selection of typical rural industrial products is deployed at four levels: district, province, region and nation, based on some criteria, including: market responsiveness and production development; economic - technique - society and environment; culture and aesthetic, etc.

120 products that were honored include handicraft products, machines, agricultural equipment, seeds, agricultural and food products and a number of other products.
On the same day, the trade fair on typical rural industrial products also officially opened at National Exhibition Construction Center (No.01 Do Duc Duc Street, Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District).
Over 400 booths display typical rural industrial products of provinces, cities across the country.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung said that rural industrial products are on the rise, contributing to creating jobs and improving the quality of life in rural areas, facilitating the development of the industry and trade and the development of the national economy.
The event aims at honoring the typical rural industrial products and promoting the development of rural industrial products, stimulating creativity in enterprises and improving the quality of goods in order to meet the demand of international economic integration.
This is a good opportunity to make connections between supply and demand directly among distribution units, enterprises and production establishments. Besides, the participants are able to meet, exchange experiences, introduce and promote products, seek partners and develop consuming markets.
