The event drew the participation of Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, RoK Ambassador to Viet Nam Lee Hyuk, Hanwha Techwin CEO Shin Hyun-woo, among others.
The Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park Management Board granted an investment certificate for the Hanwha Aero Engines Plant on July 7.
The plant has a total investment of VND 4,530 billion (US$ 200 million) and was designed to expand scale to US$ 260 million, covering an area of almost 97,000m2.
The first facility is expected to be completed and put in to operation by late April, 2018. The second one will be built and finalized by 2022.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh stressed that the event is of great significance as Viet Nam and the RoK are celebrating the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties (December 22, 1992-2017).
The project will be a foundation for the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park to attract hi-tech enterprises from the RoK and other countries to invest in the park, contributing to improving scientific and industrial potentials of the northern region in particular and Viet Nam in general, he added.
He has ordered the management board of the Hoa Lac High-tech Park to complete the construction of basic infrastructure as well as mechanisms and policies, creating favorable conditions for investors.
