Gia Lam District: Strengthening production of vegetables, fruits and ensuring food safety (21:54 18/05/2017)
According, along with well implementing management, instruction and supervision of producing safe vegetables, fruits in the area, Gia Lam District will give guideline on using plant protection products to 5,000 turns of famers in the locality.
In addition, the district will maintain and develop concentrated production zones of safe vegetables with the total area of 397.3 hectares in communes (20 hectares in Van Duc, 117 hectares in Dang Xa, 39.5 hectares in Yen Thuong, 22 hectares in Yen Vien, 17.6 hectares in Le Chi, 1.2 hectares in Dong Du) as well as production areas of safe fruits with the total area of 396.86 hectares (118 hectares in Dong Du, 45 hectares in Da Ton, 39.4 hectares in Trau Quy Town, 20 hectares in Kim Son, 79.46 hectares in Phu Thi, 60 hectares in Co Bi, 10 hectares in Phu Dong, 25 hectares in Kim Lan); establish new cultivation areas with the total area of 116 hectares in Van Duc, Kieu Ky.
Furthermore, the district will maintain and develop group models in producing vegetables, fruits in accordance with the PGS (Participatory Guarantee Systems) to supply good products to local consumers.
As planned, from now until the end of the year, Gia Lam District will promote the certification of safe food production areas. In particular, authorized agencies will analyze samples of land, water to serve consideration and certification of safe food production areas with the total area of 396 hectares; periodically and irregularly check and analyze samples of vegetables to access the fulfillment level of demands in food safe and knowledge, skills, application of technical processes, advances in farmer’s prevention of pests and diseases.
