The event saw the attendance of Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Dao Duc Toan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy.
On behalf of the city leaders, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc conveyed her greetings and best wishes to journalists, press agencies throughout the country on the occasion of the 92th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. She also praised the press agencies’ collaboration and performance and highlighted efforts of senior journalists in continuing contributions to the development process of the capital city in recent years.
She expressed her hope that press agencies will continue to carry forward the glorious traditions of the revolutionary press and promote their consensus-building role to serve the cause of national development.
She stressed that the press is the main force in shaping public opinion, actively involved in monitoring, criticizing, and giving comments to build the Party and State's guidelines and policies.
Chairwoman Ngoc voiced her hope that the news agencies to continue covering the local political and socio-economic affairs as well as reflecting the voice of the city’s residents, organisations and businesses, which could be conducive to its policy making and management.
Journalists would continue to coordinate closely with the city on the information work to build the capital city to be more prosperous and civilized, she added.
