Ha Noi to boost cooperation with Finland, Sweden and Republic of Austria in various fields (21:42 13/06/2018)


HNP – To further promote the friendly cooperation with countries of the European Union to implement missions of the Capital’s socio-economic development, a high-ranking delegation of Ha Noi led by comrade Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee officially paid a working visit to Finland, Sweden and the Republic of Austria from May 31 to June 10, 2018.

In the framework of the visit, the delegation had meetings with authorities and specialized agencies of Helsinki and Southern Ostrobothnia (Finland), Stockholm (Sweden) and Vienna (the Republic of Austria).
 
The two Capitals’ cooperation to boost the Viet Nam - Finland good relations
 
While receiving the high-ranking delegation of Ha Noi, Mrs. Sanna Vesikansa, Vice Mayor of Helsinki City was delighted at positive changes of the Viet Nam – Finland ties. She also highly appreciated the important role of the two Capitals and hoped that the relationship between the two cities will grow further in the future.
 
Helsinki is one of the richest capitals. Contributing approximately a third to Finland's GDP, Helsinki profits on service-related IT and public sectors. Along with the economic development, the city pays special attention to ensuring social welfare as well as improving the people’s living standards.

On behalf of Ha Noi’s administration and people, comrade Ngo Thi Thanh Hang expressed her sincere thanks to the Finnish people and the Capital of Helsinki for their precious support for Viet Nam and Ha Noi in the struggle for independence in the past and the current building of the country.
 
Giving brief information of the city’s gained achievements, she emphasized that Ha Noi has paid special attention to strengthening friendly relations and mutual cooperation with cities, localities all over the world and international partners so as to mobilize resources to become a civilized and modern city as well as improve local people’s living standards.
 
Currently, the city has four foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from Finland in services of trade and - information technology (IT) with the total capital of $ 570,000.
 
With the gained achievements over the past years, Vice Mayor of Helsinki Sanna Vesikansa said that she will be willing to assist Ha Noi in ensuring social welfare and improving the quality of public services for people. 
 
The two leaders believed that the good cooperation between the two cities will significantly contribute to elevating the Viet Nam – Finland friendship to a higher level.
 
Ha Noi, Southern Ostrobothnia to enhance the cooperation
 
Leaving Helsinki, the delegation paid a visit to the Southern Ostrobothnia region. Mr. Kai Potinen, President of the Regional Council, Regional Governor Asko Peltola and Regional Vice Governor Antti Saartenoja received the delegation.
 
At the meeting, both sides reviewed the gained achievements over the past 10 years since the sining of the cooperation agreement between Ha Noi and Southern Ostrobothnia. 
 
Ha Noi and Southern Ostrobothnia have deployed a series of cooperative activities in fields of socio - economic development, education – training and art performance.

In turn, comrade Ngo Thi Thanh Hang affirmed that the visit is designed to promote the cooperation and learn more about Southern Ostrobothnia’s experiences in various fields of social welfare, investment – trade promotion, tourism, e-government, smart city, green technology, energy, etc.
 
On the occasion of the visit, the Permanent Deputy Secretary also had a meeting with President of the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities, Antti Rantakokko who deployed the labor cooperation program with Ha Noi in 2006. With his commitment, enterprises in Kauhajoki city received 18 first employees from Ha Noi. 
 
At the meeting, comrade Ngo Thi Thanh Hang and Mr. Antti Rantakokko reviewed the achievements of the cooperation between the two sides over the past ten years.

Under the working program, Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang held a meeting with representatives of nine workers’ families from Ha Noi living in Southern Ostrobothina according to the cooperation mechanism between the two localities in 2018.
 
She affirmed that the city will always support and create favorable conditions for skilled workers working in Finland.
 
Strengthening the cooperation in education and training of high-quality human resources
 
With the goal of strengthening the cooperation in education – training, especially vocational training, the delegation paid a working visit to a number of vocational schools of Keskuspuisto (Finland), Sedu (Southern Ostrobothnia) and Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences. 
 
At the meetings, Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang requested the schools to seek ways to boost stronger ties with colleges, universities and vocational training establishments of Ha Noi so as to train high-quality human resources for the city.
 
On the occasion, the delegation visited an elderly care center of Simunanranta and many public works in Seinajoki. These works have contributed to ensuring and improving the quality of material and spiritual life for local people.
 
Strengthening the cooperation between Ha Noi and Stockholm (Sweden), Vienna (Republic of Austria) in fields of preserving and promoting values of cultural heritages, urban planning, environment, social welfare, investment – trade and tourism promotion
 
During the visit, the delegation had a working session with Mr. Mats Berglund, President of the Stockholm City Council. At the reception, Mr. Mats Berglund highly appreciated the visit to Stockholm and expected that it will create a great potential to boost the coordination between the two cities. 
 
Exchanging at the session, the President of the Stockholm City Council talked about the city’s advantages in fields of preservation and promotion of cultural heritages’ values in association with tourism development, IT and environment. 
 
He also affirmed that Stockholm will be ready to coordinate and assist Ha Noi in the above-mentioned fields.

In reply, Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang expressed her impression of majestic beauty of heritage buildings as well as the gained achievements in fields of economy, society, environment and urban landscape of Stockholm. 
 
She stressed that via the visit, Ha Noi hoped to enhance the cooperation with Stockholm and learn more about experiences during the process of urban development, preservation of cultural heritages, especially heritages recognized by UNESCO. 
 
Currently, Ha Noi records 13 FDI projects of Sweden with the total capital of $ 6 million in fields of IT, consultation, construction, manufacturing and processing industry and commercial services.
 
In the frame work of the visit to Sweden, the delegation also had a meeting with the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. At the meeting, both sides exchanged information about health care and social welfare, etc.
 
Promoting the cooperation between Ha Noi and Finland, Sweden and Republic of Austria through Viet Nam’s embassies in the countries
 
In the framework of the visit, the delegation visited the Embassies of Viet Nam in three countries, including Finland, Sweden and the Republic of Austria, and had anintimate encounter with the Vietnamese community in Sweden.

At the meeting, the embassies gave key information of the relations between Viet Nam and Finland, Sweden and the Republic of Austria.
 
Comrade Ngo Thi Thanh Hang asked Ambassadors to act as bridges to promote the cooperation between Ha Noi and localities in fields of vocational training, smart city, green technology, energy, e-government, environment, waste treatment, etc.
 
The Ambassadors also affirmed that officials and staffs of the embassies will always make more efforts to promote the cooperation between Viet Nam and Finland, Sweden, and the Republic of Austria as well as Ha Noi and localities, cities. 
 
On behalf of the delegation, comrade Ngo Thi Thanh Hang expressed her thanks to the ambassadors for their support for the visit. 
 
She also hoped that the ambassadors will continue bringing into full play their roles to enhance the friendship between Viet Nam and countries as well as Ha Noi and international partners.
