n 2017, Long Bien District has fulfilled 12 targets assigned by the city and 14 others by the district People’s Council. Particularly, the district reduced 56 poor households, reaching 160% against the plan and granted 980 certificates of land use right, fetching 135.2% against the plan; budget revenue reached VND 6,672 billion, exceeding 64% against the plan, while, the expenditure was estimated at VND 1,482 billion, equal 99.3% against the estimate.
In terms of construction management, in 2017, the district issued 3,615 construction licenses, accounting for 99.05%. Construction tax revenue was estimated at VND 7.31 billion, accounting for 80.89%. Besides, the district also granted 980 certificates of land use right, reaching 135.2% against the plan.
In terms of implementing the year of urban civilization, the district has prepared conditions to recognize urban civilized wards and routes for 3 wards and 11 routes, streets; effectively implemented waste collection models in public areas; strengthened inspection and urge, handle violation cases of traffic safety and urban order. After all, the district handled 4,209 violations with the total fine of VND 928 million.
In addition, administration building and administrative reform have made positive changes. Especially, Long Bien District has deployed several creativity models in receiving and dealing with administrative procedures. The movement “All people unite to build cultural life” has been maintained well. After all, 58,152 households and 208 residential areas have been recognized as cultural status.
Social welfare has been ensured. The district built and repaired 21 houses for revolutionary contributors with the total cost of VND 840 million; created jobs for 5,447 laborers (reaching 108.9% against the plan).
In terms of education and training sector, the district has comprehensively fulfilled all missions of the 2016-2017 school year. Thus, the district received Second-Class Labor Medal of the State President. Over the past school year, the district has recorded three additional national standard schools, increasing the total number of national standard schools to 62, reaching 91.2% and ten others have been recognized as e-school models.
In 2018, Long Bien District will carry out synchronous measures to promote economic restructuring towards trade – service development; focus on the planning to create favorable conditions to develop trade – services, agriculture – urban –ecology; pay attention to land clearance to implement key projects; timely implement preferential policies, mechanisms for revolutionary contributors, social protection beneficiaries, poor and near-poor households; etc.
