At the reception, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung congratulated newly appointed Ambassador and wished that in his current position, Ambassador Francis Efeduma would play a role as a positive bridge in enhancing the bilateral cooperation between Viet Nam and Nigeria.
On the occasion, the city leader gave information of Ha Noi’s socio - economic development in 2017. Particularly, GDP growth rate reached 8.5%; the capital city received 23.8 million domestic and foreign visitors, including nearly 5 million international travelers, posting a year on year increase of 23% .
For the 2016-2020 period, Ha Noi will focus on three breakthroughs, including: infrastructure development, human resource and administrative reform, he added.
The Chairman also affirmed great potentials of the coordination between Nigeria and Ha Noi in particular and Viet Nam in general in fields of tourism, culture and sports.
He also wished that the Ambassador would make all efforts to foster the relationship between Ha Noi and provinces, cities of Negeria via high-level delegation exchanges, conferences on trade and investment promotion, etc.
For his part, Nigerian Ambassador Francis Efeduma showed his impression to the socio-economic development achievements of Ha Noi and expected that in the coming time, the Nigerian Embassy would receive the city administration’s support in organizing a series of activities to boost the cooperation between the two countries.
Agreeing with the host’s recommendations, he pledged to tightly cooperate with the city capital to hold a number of cultural and sports exchanges, contributing to boosting the ties between Ha Noi and provinces and cities of Nigeria.
