The event saw the attendance of Bui Van Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Viet Nam Confederation of Labor; Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Vice Chairwoman of the Viet Nam Confederation of Labor; Dao Duc Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Hs Noi Party Committee; Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Council; Nguyen Lan Huong, Head of the Municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization; Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Chairwoman of the Ha Noi Confederation of Labor.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the Ha Noi Confederation of labor Nguyen Thi Tuyen said that the 10th “free home-coming buses for needy workers” program was organized. Through the event, the Municipal Confederation of Labor expected that all levels, sectors, employers, enterprises and Trade Unions will positively take care of workers’ material and spiritual life.
She said that on the occasion of Tet 2018, Trade Unions at all levels spent over VND 31 billion on caring for workers in difficult circumstances.
Particularly, Trade Unions offered over 32,000 free bus tickets worth nearly VND 8 billion; 56,500 gifts worth VND 22.6 billion to needy workers in industrial parks and export processing zones. Besides, the Trade Union in textile and garment field presented entertainment equipments worth VND 50 million to Kim Chung A preschool.
Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Tuyen underlined that at the same time, the Ha Noi Confederation of Labor in coordination with Labor Confederations of districts and enterprises offered hundreds of free home-coming buses to thousands of workers coming home to celebrate Tet.
