Exchanging with EIB Vice Chairman Johnathan Taylor during the reception, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung said that Ha Noi, a home to about 10 million residents, is among fast-growing cities. As a developing city, Ha Noi has huge demands for infrastructure development, climate change adaptation and environmental protection.
To settle the above matter, Ha Noi has implemented many synchronous measures over the past years. It is necessary to build urban railway works. According to the transport planning of Ha Noi by 2030 with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, the capital city will build nine urban railway lines. Now, the city is building two railway lines: Nhon - Ha Noi Railway Station and Cat Linh - Ha Dong and calling for more investment in other projects.
At the reception, Vice Chairman Nguyen The Hung expressed his sincere thanks to the EIB for its financial assistance. He expected that in the coming time, the EIB would continue to support Ha Noi in urban traffic development projects.
Besides, the host said that Ha Noi focused on investing in projects on environmental protection and solid waste treatment. He voiced his wish that the capital city would continue to receive more financial support from EIB.
In turn, EIB Vice Chairman Johnathan Taylor showed his expression to Ha Noi’s development and affirmed that in the coming time, the EIB would continue to give more assistance to Ha Noi in implementing urban railway projects.
