Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan (center) and local authorities introduce the Ho Chi Minh Fish Pond in Vinh Tuy Ward.
On February 24, Vinh Tuy Ward held a ceremony to inaugurate Phase 1 of the project to repair and upgrade the grounds, walking paths and drainage system surrounding Ho Chi Minh Fish Pond.
Duong Duc Tuan, member of the Standing Board of the Hanoi Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, attended the event.
Alongside urban tree development, Vinh Tuy Ward has recently focused on completing the project to renovate the grounds, pathways and drainage system around the pond.
The project meets residents' expectations for a clean, green and well-maintained community space.
The renovation included upgrading the entire site, constructing a walking path approximately 544 meters long and three meters wide, reinforcing embankments with reinforced concrete beams combined with grass-covered slopes for durability and building a 320-meter drainage system connected to the drainage network on Duong Van Be Street.
Units also cleared vegetation, cleaned and landscaped the surrounding area and completed a community flower garden, gradually forming a public space for recreation, exercise and social activities while preventing encroachment, ensuring security, environmental sanitation and enhancing urban aesthetics.
The project demonstrates Vinh Tuy Ward's determination to align infrastructure investment with green space development and build a civilized, modern and sustainable living environment.
In 2026, the ward aims to plant 200 new shade trees in residential areas, parks, schools, hospitals and along key roads, while replacing dead or hazardous trees and filling empty sidewalk pits to improve safety and appearance.

The ward also calls on each individual and household to participate, encouraging families to plant at least one to two trees on balconies, in gardens, or around their homes to directly increase urban green coverage at the neighborhood level.
In addition, the ward will continue coordinating with city departments to prepare planning documents and seek approval for Phase 2 investment.
Vinh Tuy Ward is committed to developing the Ho Chi Minh Fish Pond area into an attractive, environmentally friendly urban highlight that provides residents with a clean, green and vibrant living space.
