The ceremony saw the birth of new Dong Anh Commune on June 30.
Ha Minh Hai, Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Organization Commission, on June 30 presented the city's official decision on the establishment of Dong Anh Commune.
At the event, decisions were also announced on the appointment of the Dong Anh Commune Party Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and key leadership positions for the 2025-2030 term.
Nguyen Anh Dung was appointed Party Secretary, and Nguyen Van Cuong was named Permanent Vice Secretary.
Hai also presented a resolution from the Standing Committee of the Hanoi People's Council appointing leadership positions in the Dong Anh Commune People's Council.
Nguyen Anh Dung was also appointed Chairman of the People's Council.
At the same ceremony, Dung, as Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council, presented the resolution assigning executive positions in the Dong Anh Commune People's Committee.
Nguyen Van Thieng was appointed Chairman, while Nguyen Cong Phuoc and Nguyen Thi Luong were named Deputy Chairpersons.
Secretary Dung also delivered the decision of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee recognizing the members and leadership of the Dong Anh Commune Fatherland Front.
Dao Duy Tung was appointed Chairman of the commune-level Fatherland Front Committee.
Dong Anh Commune was newly formed by merging the entire area and population of the former communes of Co Loa, Dong Hoi, and Mai Lam with most of the area and population of former Uy No, Viet Hung, Duc Tu, and Xuan Canh communes, and parts of Vinh Ngoc, Tien Duong, Lien Ha, Tam Xa communes and Dong Anh Town.
After the merger, Dong Anh Commune covers a natural area of 48.97 square kilometers and has a population of 116,423.
